About Stay with Clay

The information on this website is complied by the TBE working group “sustainable construction”. The objective is to provide information about sustainable aspects of the European clay brick and roof tile industry, following the life cycle approach. Sustainability is about the responsible use of resources be they human, physical or financial. It has become recognised practice to consider sustainability under three headings:

• Social progress
   
• Protection of the environment and conservation of resources
   
• Maintenance of high and stable levels of growth and employment.

The case for clay as a sustainable building material is strong, as shown in five life cycle stages.
