Functional Agricultural Products from Tongyu Base of Jilin University Unveiled at the 2020 China Agricultural Green Development Summit Forum

        In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the "four aspects" of scientific and technological innovation, the "China Agricultural Green Development Summit Forum" led by the China University (East China) Technology Achievement Transformation Center ", 2020 China Rural E-commerce Supply Chain Conference was held on the afternoon of November 28 at the Baima Agricultural International Expo Center in Nanjing, Jiangsu. Professor Li Qijun from the Science and Technology Development Office of the Jilin University Research Institute, Professor Han Junyou, and Associate Professor Li Bin, the associate dean of the School of Plant Science of Jilin University, were invited to attend the meeting. Li Kaifu, Secretary and Director of the Party Working Committee of Jilin Tongyu Economic Development Zone, and representatives of Tongyu County enterprises brought agricultural products from Jilin University Functional Agricultural Base (Tongyu) to the meeting. The theme of the forum is "Integrating innovative technology to help ecological development".

        In the university agricultural science and technology achievement exhibition area, universities from Nanjing Agricultural University, Yangzhou University, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, Northeast Agricultural University, Jilin University and other universities exhibited scientific and technological achievements and products. Our school displayed nationally approved rice, corn varieties, and new crops. The development and utilization of beans, the development of functional products of purslane, and the development of functional products of rattan tea, and other scientific research achievements and functional agricultural products projects, and the poverty alleviation products of Jilin University Functional Agricultural Base (Tongyu) were exhibited. Xinhua News Agency reporters interviewed Professor Han Junyou, deputy dean of the School of Botany of Jilin University, and Li Kaifu, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Jilin Tongyu Economic Development Zone. Professor Han Junyou introduced a product developed by the functional agriculture team of Jilin University, mainly containing more than 30 kinds of food (including medicinal and edible homologous plants). Natural, non-additive functional agricultural products suitable for sub-healthy people. Secretary Li Kaifu introduced Tongyu’s natural environmental conditions, focusing on introducing high-quality functional agricultural products from his hometown, and said that in the targeted poverty alleviation work of Jilin University, the functional agriculture team fully tapped Tongyu’s natural resources and characteristics of agricultural production. Only focusing on the needs of the healthy population has increased the added value of local agricultural products, and enabled farmers to increase their incomes and get rid of poverty, and benefited a lot.         At the forum, the Industrial Development Center of the China Society for International Economic Cooperation, the Consumer Poverty Alleviation Working Committee of the China Society for Well-off Construction, the International Innovation Education Alliance, and the China University (East China) Technology Achievement Transformation Center jointly initiated the establishment of the "Ecological Agriculture International Cooperation Alliance". Professor Han Junyou, the deputy dean of the School of Plant Sciences, attended the launching ceremony of the alliance on behalf of Jilin University.

Through this forum, the functional agricultural products of Jilin University Functional Agriculture Base (Tongyu), such as rice, miscellaneous grains and beans, spicy cabbage, and sauerkraut, have been fully displayed, allowing more people to understand the value of functional agricultural products.
